Tattoo Care
Keeping new tattoos clean and moisturized is extremely important to prevent infection and to keep the colors bold.
To clean your tattoo, wash it two to three times daily with Dial Gold Antibacterial soap. Pat dry (Don'T rub!), and apply unscented lotion, Vaseline, or Aquifer (Medicated Vaseline) throughout the day.
The tattoo will form scabs and will itch. This is perfectly normal. Do not pick at the scabs or scratch! Doing so will cause the scabs to come off and the ink will come out of your skin, resulting in a patchy tattoo.
Picking at the scabs also puts you at a higher risk of infection from the bacteria under your fingernails.
