Earlobe Stretching
The stretching, or "gauging" of the earlobes is a body modification that consists of gradually expanding a healed piercing to accommodate larger jewelry.
Earlobe stretching is a gradual process. It may take you several months to reach the size that you want.
Trying to hurry the process by skipping sizes can result in a "blowout", which is when the inner flesh of the piercing is forced outwards, creating a "lip" around the edge. Blowouts are not only unappealing to look at, but they can be very painful.

In some cases, skipping sizes can cause the bottom of the earlobe to tear. Ouch.
To safely stretch your earlobes, size up according to the following chart, and DO NOT SKIP SIZES.
